Staff report.
BNP leader, ex-central leader of Jatiyatavadi Chhatra Dal, eminent educationist, ex-convening committee member of Sylhet metropolis BNP and ex-struggle organizing secretary, public leader Mahbub Chowdhury said that on May 1, 1886, the working class in the American city of Chicago set a shining example of self-sacrifice to establish their rights. The working community of the world is inspired by it and is still continuing the movement for their rights. The movement for workers’ fair rights has not been completely successful even today. At present, the working class is deprived of their rightful rights in many cases. The ruling class has created a dire situation in the factories and manufacturing sectors.
Workers agitating for fair rights including wages are being assaulted and harassed and many are being shot, injured and killed. This situation needs to end.
Rasul Kareem (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) strongly urged the workers to pay their fair dues before their sweat dries up.
Due to the anti-people policies of the government, the workers of this sector are living an inhumane life due to the closure of one after another industrial factories and the continuous increase in commodity prices and mismanagement. He said this in a statement sent to the media on the occasion of the Great May Day.
